About Our Works
Artplace Gallery strives to provide our clients with the highest quality original artworks and limited edition reproductions. Currently, we are showing an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional works in both 2-D and 3-D formats. Please view our gallery pages for samples by our stable of artists.

It is important to us to work closely with our artists to understand their materials, inspirations,  and processes. We inspect and monitor each piece of work as it enters and rotates through our gallery to make sure each piece meets our standard of overall quality and craftsmanship.

About Our Commitment to Our Clients
Artplace's commitment of service and quality is premier. We value our clients and will take any measures necessary to ensure a quality experience. You will always receive service with a smile, and personal attention from our gallery staff.

Gallery History
Artplace Gallery has been constantly changing and growing since its establishment in 1995.  Originally, in the early days of the world wide web, artplace.com was an on-line gallery and portfolio for founder and artist Doug Simpson. As Simpson evolved as an artist artplace.com began showing work by other artists as well.

The first physical location was established at 413 West Main Street in downtown Denison, TX by Simpson in 1999.  Artplace Gallery remained Simpson's working studio until 2001 when he decided to add a retail store front for his artwork and custom framing services for the community. More artists were added and the foundation of what Artplace Gallery is today was formed.

Shelley Tate Garner came to Artplace in 2003 as Gallery Director and framer. The gallery developed by enlarging the space and adding new artists to the growing arts community of Denison, TX.  Simpson and Garner started teaching art lessons in late 2004 for local children and adults. Garner directed the space, taught, and framed until late 2005 when she purchased it from Simpson.

Now, under the direction of Garner, Artplace Gallery is moving forward into a new phase. Still a working studio for Garner and Simpson, Artplace is also a full-time gallery, the best framing center in the area, and a space for art education. You can find Shelley at the gallery Tuesday through Saturday and during all gallery events. Many of our artists are present during our openings, art walks, and fine art tours. Artplace proudly stands as Denison's most diverse gallery space.
