Artplace offers a wide variety of classes and workshops for students ages 5
through adult. Browse this page to see our detailed class descriptions and
examples of student artwork.
We are very proud of our students of all ages and strive to provide a quality

Detailed Class Descriptions:
Youth Fine Art Instruction
Designed for elementary aged children and pre-teens that can focus their
attention toward structured art creation. Sessions spotlight single areas of
visual art media or production with a goal of neat, accurate, and complete final
compositions. Students can expect active small group classes of 10 students or
less with project guidelines demonstrated by the instructor. Creativity and
individually are encouraged as students learn about new mediums and techniques.
Classes
meet Saturdays or Tuesday for 1 hour. All supplies are included in your class
fee of $75 per student for a 6 week session or $50 per student for a 4 week
session.
Intermediate Youth Fine Art
Instruction
Designed for pre-teen and teens who want to develop and improve art skills and
concepts. Classes emphasize techniques and principles of fine art with student
input and creativity for unique artworks. All projects are planned and executed
by the student with assistance from instructors. Variety of media and technique
are encouraged, as well as progressive improvement within any major area of
interest. Students can expect an active classroom of 8 students or less in this
class. Students will execute all steps of the fine art process, including
planning, building, and finishing with help from their instructor. Students at
this level should be creative self-starters and motivated workers.
Classes
meet Saturdays or Tuesday for 1 hour. All supplies are included in your class
fee of $75 per student for a 6 week session or $50 per student for a 4 week
session
Advanced Youth Fine Art Instruction
For Middle School and older students with a desire and existing preliminary
skill base to create fine art. This class focuses on each individual student’s
interest and skill areas to develop and enhance fine art techniques and
principles necessary to execute quality fine art. Students are encouraged to
work on a larger scale, do detailed projects, be bold and creative and to hold
themselves to a high standard of quality in this class. Students can expect a
quiet classroom environment with a very small group of 5 or less. This class is
for serious youth artists requiring advanced studio assistance from the
instructor, as well as a quiet atmosphere for concentration. Students should be
creative self-starters and motivated workers with a good base of art skills.
Classes meet Saturdays or Tuesday for 1 hour. Extended 1 ½ hour class times are
available for those needing longer class periods. Most supplies are included in
your class fee of $75 per student for a 6 week session or $50 per student for a
4 week session.
Adult Studio Group
Artplace makes its studio space and instructors available for adult group
classes with an enrollment of 4 students or more. Class schedules follow the
same 6 or 4 week session format of the youth sessions and meet from 4-6 pm on
Saturdays. Classes meet as small groups of 4 to 6 students, but each student
works on an individual project advised by the instructor. Recommended mediums
include acrylic painting, clay, drawing and mixed media. Other mediums are
accepted at the discretion of the instructor.
If
minimum enrollment is not met for any 4 or 6 week session, group class is
postponed until sufficient enrollment is reached. Classes meet Saturdays for 2
hours. Supplies are not included in your class fee of $112 per student for a 6
week session or $75 per student for a 4 week session
Adult Mentoring
The mentoring program consists of critiques, suggestions, technical
assistance, technique development, design principles, color design/harmony, and
other factors to help guide the student producing quality fine art of their
preference. Meetings will address the individual issues of the artist working at
home or in an isolated studio environment. Mentoring sessions are one on one
time with flexible scheduling arranged by the student and instructor.
Classes meet by arrangement
for 1 hour per meeting. The fee of $60 covers 3 one hour meetings an can be used
at the convenience of the student depending on their working schedule.
Private Lessons (Youth or Adult)
$20 per
hour not including supplies and scheduled by arrangement.
Paverpol Mixed Media Workshops and

Offered periodically throughout the year with different themes and materials
